Madrid Quick Trip

Madrid offers many excellent museums, restaurants, parks, and hotels.  I recently visited and discovered excellent dining and accommodations.

Vincci the Mint

Vincci The Mint offered great accommodations and locations.  Check in was an easy process with an excellent front desk staff.  Even though I was arriving early from a red-eye flight from the United States, they offered my room well before normal check-in.  This was greatly appreciated as I was able to fit in a mini siesta prior to venturing out.

The hotel is relatively new and rooms are very clean.  The spacious bathroom was perfect and the bed very comfortable.  A mini bar was in the room for the small necessities.

The lobby features a bar and restaurant however the star is the rooftop bar.  From the rooftop, you can enjoy excellent views of Madrid, especially at night.  Misters keep things cool during the day.  Seating is comfortable and the atmosphere is excellent.  As experienced throughout the hotel service is excellent.  Prices were very reasonable.

The interesting draw of the rooftop is the bar itself.  Drinks are served from an old food truck.  To get the truck in place all unnecessary weight was removed and it was craned into place.

Ramses Life

Nearby we discovered great dining at Ramses Life restaurant.  On a beautiful sunny day, the outdoor dining option is too much to pass up.  Located next to the Puerta de Alcalá, the location is excellent for people watching.

Service is excellent and not rushed.  Our waitress, as well as the entire staff, were professional, friendly, attentive, yet not overbearing.

Food choices are varied with modern Asian mixed with more traditional Spanish choices.  While I admit to being slightly apprehensive regarding sushi in central Spain, I was very happy I ordered.

From excellent food choices to abundant drink options, a pleasant afternoon at Ramses surely will not disappoint.
