Backpack for a day, Backpack for a lifetime

daylite-blueI looked  for a daypack and the Osprey Daylite found me.  I had my list of needs.  It needed to be strong and durable, lightweight.  I needed something large enough to carry my camera and tablet with room for water, lightweight clothing, and any purchases I couldn’t live without as I wandered through my day.  Oh, and it had to be very comfortable to carry.  Impossible?  Not so fast.

I turned back to a company I have great experience with, Osprey.  I chose their blue Daylite day pack.  I put several thousand miles on it and here we are.

The Daylite measures 18x9x9 inches.  The advertised volume is 13 liters.  This pack swallows up my camera, tablet, and so much mote with ease.  The pack is constructed from Double ripstop nylon yielding a strong durable pack.  The ventilated foam back panel provides structure and support.  The straps, sternum strap, and hip belt ensure a comfortable carry.  Osprey shows their experience by providing a carry system that rivals much larger bags.

Osprey puts the “lite” in Daylite by keeping the weight of the empty pack down to 1 pound.  This, combined with the ability to store the pack flat makes it ideal for packing in a larger bag.  I pack the Daylite inside my Osprey Ozone 22.  This leaves me with a great around town carry when arriving at the destination.

After several thousand miles as my daily carry bag while flying it shows virtually no signs of wear.  I expect this one to hold up for years to come.  Of course, the bag is covered by Osprey’s All Mighty Guarantee.
